I offer a collaborative and client-centered approach that is highly individualized to your unique needs, goals, strengths, and interests. My approach to therapy is eclectic and integrates techniques from several evidence-based models: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy,  Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I operate from an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens to empower clients in fostering change and alleviating painful or distressing symptoms. My role, as a therapist, is to assist you in developing resilience and coping strategies through a strength-based approach that draws on the skills and resources that you already have. This treatment model ensures personal growth in both the short and long term. Together, we can cultivate a safe and supportive environment for you to engage in self-exploration, healing, and recovery. Sessions are private and confidential, although some limits exist, and I am obligated to report information that requires disclosure (mandated by law) as per the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers’ Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

I can help you resolve and cope with a variety of challenges, including:

anxiety
depression or low mood
pregnancy and postpartum adjustment
parenting difficulties
trauma
domestic violence
sexual assault
grief or loss
mood disorders
stress
identity issues
relationship conflict
eating disorders
body image issues
low self-esteem
childhood abuse

Fees and Coverage

Therapy sessions provided by a Registered Social Worker are currently not covered by O.H.I.P. However, many private insurance or extended health care plans offer coverage for this service. Also, as of 2016, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) allows fees paid to Registered Social Workers to be deducted on your personal income tax return.

A free phone consultation is provided prior to our first in-person meeting. This gives you an opportunity to ask questions and determine for yourself whether we are a good fit and if I’m the right therapist for you. It will also give me a better idea of the types of issues you may be struggling with or looking to change.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $140 per session. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available upon request for those that may not otherwise be able to afford private therapy.

Cancellation Policy:

At least 24 hours notice is required for cancellation. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged for the full cost of the session.
